Longer School Days & Years

Hi Class! Today’s topic is about longer school days. Answer at least one of the scenarios below. Your answer must provide several reasons and be written at a grade 6.75 or grade 7.75 level. Please note that at the end of this week, you will be asked to identify your best post (proper spelling, grammar, sentence structure, and idea development).

Scenario #1: Would you be willing to have 75 minutes extra class time per day in exchange for a three day weekend every week?

Scenario #2: Would you be willing to have 15 minutes extra class time per day in exchange for a two week spring break?

Scenario #3: Would you be willing to have year-round school? This is where you have approximately three months of school then approximately one month break. This cycle repeats itself throughout the year.

  1. I would be willing to have 15 more minutes of a school day to get a 2 week spring break!!
    !!! πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚ =)

  2. kegar says:

I would be willing to have 75 extra minutes to have 3 days for the weekend because I
    like brakes. πŸ˜€ πŸ™‚ πŸ˜›

  3. savannah says:

I would rather have 75 minutes more but no 3 day weekend. I would rather be at school than at home because at home sucks a lot! my sister is so annoying and that makes my mom cry most of the time.

  4. Daniel says:

for scenario #2:, I wouldn’t want to do that Because there would be extra school . I don’t think it would be fair.

  5. Rylee Johnson says:

    I don’t really know but I think I would want #2 even know I wouldn’t suggest it.

    • Ke says:

I think 2# would be a pretty good deal because you get two weeks for spring
      break ..

      • savannah says:

I’m kinda with Keagan on that one because I like more school but I also like more spring break.

  6. Anna says:

For number 1 I would be willing to work for 1 hour and 15 mins extra for Friday off.
Because I do not mind working longer if I get one day off, its totally worth it.
Another reason is you can do more things with your friends because you have 1 more day. MORE MOVIE NIGHTS!!!!! πŸ˜€

    • savannah says:

      I think I would go with Anna but I wouldn’t want Friday off. πŸ˜€ :l :C

  7. Jacob Kealey says:

I wouldn’t mind having a 75 minute class per day.And then have a 3 day weekend per week. because I would get to know my class better, and also because we’d definitely pass the grade.

  8. Steve Scott says:

scenario # 2. “Yes because then I could stay home or party with my friends for two weeks instead of one”.

  9. jacob harmon says:

Scenario#2 Two week of spring break is would be very awesome so I can do more fun things on spring break.

  10. Hayden Smale says:

scenario#1 sounds alright having a three day weekend but not so much an extra 1 hour and 15 min. everyday

scenario#3 Is pretty good but all of your friends from a different school would be in school and out of school at different times than you.

  11. Turner says:

I would like scenario one because you can have three extra weeks of to have fun and play all day long.

  12. Allie Sampson says:

Scenario #1 Because then I can hang out with my Friends for an extra day.And Because I wouldn’t mind for working 75 minutes extra a week for a day off that would be cool and I can stay up late with my family and dog.

  13. Brant says:

scenario 1 I think it would be good because we don’t need any longer of a week. We already go to school for almost 7 hours. If we did go to school for longer i think we need to have every Friday off scenario 2 i would want it cuzz more time away from school is better

  14. Ashley Evin says:

Scenario #2, I would rather have the second one because 15 minutes is not that bad. For a reward you would get 1 extra week of spring break.

  15. Rylee Johnson says:

I wouldn’t totally agree with Scenario #2 because I think that if we have 15 minutes more of school we should have a longer weekend not a longer spring break. At my old school they already had a 2 week Spring Break. I guess at this school they have a different program. I would like a longer Spring Break. I just really don’t want more school than we already have.

  16. kimberly loucks says:

I think that we should have the extra time to do your homework and catch up in the work you had missed for the 75 minutes extra time.

I would be willing to have the 15 minute extra time so you can have a 2 week spring break.

I would not be willing to have a year round school year because that would be to much work.

  17. Jonny says:

I would like Scenario #1 and Scenario #2. Scenario #1 because you get one extra day of weekend ever week and 75 minutes isn’t a long time soooooooo I think it would be awesome. Scenario #2 because you would get one extra week for spring break and only 15 more minutes of school.

  18. Lea Andrews says:

    Scenario #1
-You would get a longer weekend.
-Less days of school per week.
-I like to be away from home so if we have 75 minutes extra I would be away from home longer.
-I like school, it is awesome.

  19. BQ says:

Scenario#2 I think this would be a good idea because we could learn a little more and catch up on things that aren’t done. It would also be awesome to have to weeks to sleep.

  20. Ashley Evin says:

I also think that #1 would be alright but it would not be my first because that would add 1 hour an 15 minutes to the end of the school day.

  21. Calvin :D :P says:

I would like Scenario #1 because : longer weekends means less teachers nagging if you do something wrong. Not that I would know. and less stress so you can get more work done and get more time to play video games, play sports etcetera πŸ˜€ πŸ˜› πŸ˜€ πŸ˜› 8)

  22. Tyler says:

I would be willing to do scenario #2 because I would be willing to give up 75 minutes of my after school time for a three day weekend because you could make up for it during the extra day you could get off.
