  1. tenille says:

Drones should not be aloud because they will invaid your privacy and they might take over the world!!! DUN DUN DUUUUUN

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Tenille. Your response requires more detail. To be convincing you must have BIG IDEAS supported with details. Mentioning privacy is a great start, now give examples of how drones will invade our privacy. Next, add more details to how drones will take over the world. Please rework your response and post again.

  2. luken says:

Ok I like drones because they can help are society by finding cattle or finding children that have gone missing. I highly agree with drones. Drones will be a huge leap in are society.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Luken. Your response requires more detail. To be convincing you must have BIG IDEAS supported with details. For example, you mention finding cattle and children, this falls under a bigger idea of search & rescue or even safety. Please rework and post again.

  3. Charlize says:

Drones are absolutely bad for the world.
1: Imagine waking up, and a robot thing is watching you. -stalker much- Plus, Criminals could easily buy one of this things.
2: They can turn evil and destroy the world. Plus Ending Human life as we know it.
3: They could deliver false packages that is or can be bad for example Bombs, drugs and way more!
4: Wrong people buying them aka criminals. Criminals could make the drones kill anyone they want like the police would die and everyone from jail could brake free and again destroy the world.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Charlize. Rather than submit a numbered list, please write a paragraph. Take the time to rework your writing and post again.

    • Garet says:

unless they become self aware there is no reason they could take over the world, it could be that there is a way to disable them if they are caught doing anything bad with the use of a drone, recreational drones are not equiped with weapons they can’t really do much other than crash into things also it would have to be someone outside controlling the drone so there could be some barrier in between the controller and the drone which again are not armed so aren’t that dangerous.

  4. Kaedyn says:

From my point of view drones have a key part in advancing our society. Obviously drones make the world safe for instance workers don’t have to climb dangerous poles to check the hydro lines, in war soldiers don’t have to come in contact with enemy forces. There is no doubt that drone are helpful for example farmers don’t have to drive miles away to check on their fields . In short drones are good.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Great opening sentence! Be sure to state each BIG IDEA on their own, then add details in subsequent sentences. For example, “Drones make the world safe. For example, hydro workers would not have to climb dangerous poles to check the lines. Likewise, soldiers in war…”

After the safety topic, you explore the farming topic. Choose a transition word or phrase to make this move smooth. For example, “Drones have uses beyond safety. In farming…

Take some time to rework your writing and post again.

  5. Niomi .3. says:

Drones are highly necessary!.. They help a lot with work such as Delivering, Helping with the Military (Military Drones), A lot of car commercial use and much more.. They are way faster and less wasteful and more environmentally friendly than using trucks or air planes.(ac). Thats why I think Drones are pretty great to have.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Niomi. You’ve stated two excellent BIG IDEAS. The next improvement is to support them with examples. You’ve jumped from delivering and military to car commercials. This is confusing. List some instances where drones are helpful for delivering. Then explore the military benefits. Keep reworking your response and post again.

      Quick Fix:
      – that is = that’s
      – there is no need to capitalize delivery, helping, military and military drones

      • Niomi .3. says:

Soon as i clicked post i realized the ( Thats ) I was going to fix it but didnt have time T_T

        • Mr. Bell says:

No worries. This is a good lesson about the ‘POST’ button. Once it’s submitted, it’s out of your control who sees it.

          Quick Fix:
          – I is always capitalized.

    • tenille says:

Niomi I disagree because drones are going to invade peoples privacy with their cameras and also who would want hundreds maybe thousands flying in the sky above you. The drones could go to school for children and they wouldn’t get the education they need to be smart and go to colleague, instead they would be at home on their games and sitting on the couch like a lump on a log. So that is why I highly DISAGREE that drones should not be aloud to fly around and be made.

    • Cheyanne says:

Sorry but I have to disagree with you Niomi. they may be faster and more environmentally friendly but they also cause trouble in the sky. there have been instances where pilots came close to crashing into drones because they were just heading in their direction. Not moving out of the way at all. There fore making trouble for other aircraft in the sky.

    • Alyse says:

I disagree because somrthing might happen to the drone during the task that the people send them on whice will waste the time and could have been somebodys life that will also leave people acutlaly going into the problem with less time for people to fix the problem. also if people leave the drones to do all their work whice will leave people being a couch potato.

    • mackenzie says:

Niomi I have to disagree with you because drones can ivvade your privacy an they cost a lot of money

  6. luken says:

I like drones because they can help are society by finding cattle or finding children that have gone missing. I highly agree with drones. Drones will be a huge leap in are society. The reasons are that they wont be used for the wrong reasons they will be used for delivering packages or finding things that have been lost or stolen drones can keep track of cattle. Some say the drones will go bad but that is only movies. I highly agree with drones

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Luken. Clearly state what the BIG IDEA is in your argument, then support it with examples (like finding cattle or children).

The statement, “I highly agree with drones.” is unsupported; explain why.

How can you prove that drones will not be used for the wrong reasons? Again, explain why you make this point.

      Quick Fixes:
      – will not = won’t
      – our society (belongs to us)

Keep reworking and post your improvements.

  7. RIO says:

Drones are completely necessary just look at all the benefits to people like farmers police departments swat there are so many useful things that they can do it would be sad see them not available to the public and go to waste. One of the best things is drones in the military solders are just that bit safer and can go home to there family’s. Also the drones can fly up to electric towers and take a picture to see if it needs fixing in my very honest opinion drones will help with every problems.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Rio. Here are several improvements to make:

      – All of your sentences require more punctuation because you include many ideas. Use a comma if the ideas are related. If the ideas are unique, put them in a new sentence.
      – What is the BIG IDEA you are developing? It appears that your arguments revolve around safety. After your opening sentence (where you state your position), explain that your arguments are about safety.

      Please rework and post again.

  8. Devon says:

Drones are not needed in this world. One main reason is privacy because this work has many perverts so people are just finding new ways to watch inappropriate things. Drones can be used by anyone who has a drone, I don’t think that is very safe because if you don’t have the training you might end up killing or hurting people because they just don’t know how to use it for work uses. Also it is just too much money to use on one machine that might not even be legal if you don’t have a special licence. In all they should be isolated and only allowed for police work.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Devon. You’ve provided some good arguments against drones. One improvement is to outline the BIG IDEAS (safety, privacy and cost). Lastly, transition words help the reader recognize when a new idea is coming. Take the time to rework and repost your paragraph.

    • Kaedyn says:

I disagree, even if bad people do buy drones you could just lock your windows and call the police. Also you need to get a certificate from training to fly one of these drones. Another point is they’re way more affordable than a aeroplane and helicopter.

    • RIO says:

Devon I don’t thing drones are bad there are pros and cons but in my eyes there are more pros they have so much to offer and yet a future of them it’s almost inevitable that they will be used for generations to come

      • Mr. Bell says:

What are some of those pros? Your argument makes a hollow comment without any convincing details. To be convincing, give some examples.

    • Beau says:

I have to disagree with you Devon. Our privacy has already been invaded by surveillance cameras in cities. For example, cameras have helped to catch the Stanley Cup rioters. The more they make drones the cheaper they will become. If the military is trying to defend our country, costs should not be a factor. I don’t think drones should be used for just police work because drones help create jobs.

  9. tenille says:

I think drones should not be aloud because they would have cameras to spy on you and lose your privacy. They could also develop a mind of their own and take over the world. The drones could be fixing something, but what if they already have a mind of their own and mess up what their fixing. If the drones are a big hit the creators of the drones would go crazy with them and there would be tones of them in the air flying all over the place.

    • Mr. Bell says:

This is an improvement over your first draft – well done Tenille! The next step is to add several examples of privacy invasion. Likewise, your argument on taking over the world needs more explanation and examples. Avoid making ‘What if…?’ statements when you are trying to be persuasive. Continue to rework and repost.

      Quick Fix:
      – allowed (permitted)
      – aloud (can be heard)

    • Jayme says:

Well Tenille I think drones should be in our society. Because in my opinion they can help farmers check their crops, instead of driving to check on them, drones also can check tall voltage towers. Drones can also be used by the army to fight instead of risking their lives. And that is why I think drones should be in our society. Jayme

    • aliya.f says:

Tenille I disagree with you greatly, drones are made to do what we program and control them to do which is why them taking over the earth is a total myth. Also they would not invade others privacy if rules like this were rules; you must have a appropriate use to have a drone. Videos should be assessable by the government. Lastly they should have a under ground way or a way to get where they need without entering towns or cities.

  10. Josh says:

There is no doubt in my mind drones will be used in or everyday life. It is much safer to send a drone to go look for people that have went missing. Also for war we can have an advantage over other country that may no have the technology to make the drones it is also safer to send a drone then to send a human with a family

    • Mr. Bell says:

Great opening sentence Josh! Now, state your big ideas (safety, military) in your second sentence. Finally, give supporting details and examples for each big idea.

      Quick Fix:
      – then (used to show a sequence or order of events)
      – than (use to compare)

It is also safer to send a drone than to send a human…

    • Devon says:

Drones are safer but have no privacy and they are not needed.

      • MAX says:

of course drones have privacy the only times they have cameras is when they are filming commercials and that stupid air hogs camera copter thing that even i agree is not safe

        • aliya says:

If they are controlled safely and properly there will be no danger involved, there are many things that drones could be used for we just have to give it a try. Technology is finally here now don’t you want to explore it? We can do so much and help so much.

    • Maddy. H says:

Drones should not be used! Yes, we can look for people who are missing, but we can also look for peoplethat do NOT need to be looked at!!!

  11. aliya says:

Drones should be allowed in our community because of what they are able to do. Drones can be a very good help in B.C because they can help out with the dangerous jobs like climbing up to a hydro stand a see if it is running good or help out the search and rescue with what there are walking into. They would help the pollution because they are battery charged and they would probably replace delivers with a faster a more efficient way to deliver. I don’t want a million Drones flying across the sky, if you have a important reason for having a Drone you should be allowed to have one. But if you want to make a commercial with one or you want to fly one for fun there should be a place where you rent them with a paper saying that you have permission. If you did rent one for taking videos and, or taking pictures you would need to bring back the videos or pictures back the the rental shop with the Drone so they can see what you were doing. But if you wanted to fly one for fun you shouldn’t be allowed to do it in a town or city because you might spy or crash into something with it. there should only be a certain amount of Drones allowed in B.C. Also imagine we had a way for the Drones to get to places without flying throw the sky’s, what if there way a way for Drones under the ground?

    • Mr. Bell says:

Well said Aliya! You’ve provided great details throughout your response. One addition is to give the reader a hint of the big ideas you will explore. A good sport for this is in your second sentence after your opening statement.

      Consider the following:
      – How is using a drone to film different than filming with a phone or camera?
      – How do we decide what can / can’t be filmed?

    • shyla says:

I agree that people with inportant uses should be alowed one but I still disagree with them flying around our cities. They are a nusence and are very loud. There anr many more reasons but my main one is that they are very invasive like how would you feel if a drone was watching you change or go to the bathroom?

  12. Alyse says:

I strongly say that drones should not be allowed to roam the sky above us. First of all drones should not be used on basic everyday life because the sky will be covered with drones, for example: your at the park having a picnic and playing on the playground, Don’t you want a nice clear sky above you, not a sky were drones are flying every which way with that annoying buzzing sound. Also ducking if they are flying to low and they expecting you to get out of there way. Second of all there is a lot of safety issues with drones. These drowns can be used in the wrong way, for example: some people use it to drop off items that may hurt people, and they may be flying to high that they crash into a airline. Also if these drones are flying around people close to the ground the blades maybe a proble around people and they may come crashing into the hurting them. Third of all drones can be a big privacy issue. In support of this drones can have cameras on them on some people will use them to watch people and spy on others. Finally drones can be a health issue, people would be sorta lazy with drones around that they may use them to do every thing for them while they be a couch potato. As you can see my point of view now hope u agree that drones should not be used!

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your detailed argument – well done!

      Quick Fixes:
      – you are at the park = you’re at the park
      – “Don’t you want…” is a question and requires a question mark, right?
      – really low, very low, extremely low = too low
      – the way belonging to them = their way
      – drowns vs drones (there is a difference)
      – u need to use YOU went writing for an academic/school response

  13. Cheyanne says:

There is no doubt that drones are not good. For instance there is the privacy issue. There was one particular report that got attention. It was about an apartment dweller who was frightened when he saw a drone filming him. Just hovering over his patio that was on the 36th floor. Secondly people using drones can have it follow you, without you being able to tell who truly is stalking you. In addition to the privacy issue there is a safety issue. there have been some issues of drones colliding with aircraft. People are questioning whether or not they will be able to fly in the air without colliding with other aircraft. Also when the military shoots missiles, at times they have also hurt some civilians too. Further more they could even replace us. They could take away our jobs which would make it hard for us to earn enough money to support our families. For this reason there is absolutely no doubt that drones are not the right thing for our society.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Well said Cheyanne! Your arguments and details are convincing. You’ve done well to provide examples in support of your case. One thing to note is to add a comma after using connecting words (First, Secondly, Finally,)

  14. Jayme says:

There is no doubt that drones have a future in this society ahead of them. As you can see drones can make your job easier for you. farmers can use drones to check their crops , and see if any animals have gotten away are animals have ruined crops. Secondly you can save time by using drones for commercials instead of using big heavy cameras. Finally and the most important pro of drones is the safety. The drone supplies you with safety by, letting the military use the drones to look over the battle fields and use them to fight instead of soldiers risking their lives. That’s why I think drones should be used in our societies.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Well done Jayme! You’ve stated some big ideas and supported them with examples. Also, your use of transition words is very good. In most cases a comma is needed after the transition words:

      Secondly, you can…
      Finally, or Most importantly,

    • shyla says:

Well drones have their pros, but I disagree with them flyingaround our cities. There is many reasons but here is two first of all they are very invasive, for example how

    • shyla says:

Well drones have their pros, but I disagree with them flyingaround our cities. There is many reasons but here is two first of all they are very invasive, for example how would you feel if a drone all of the sudden in the bath room while you are taking a shower or doing your business? That would be unsettling and creepy. they also cause dangers for other air crafts that aren’t made for hitting 35 kg metal objects.

    • Cheyanne says:

I disagree with you Jayme because they might make your job easier for you but they could take your job from you. Also just because the military uses drones doesn’t necessarily mean they’re safe. when the military shoot missiles on enemies they’re also harming and injuring the citizens of that area, in which there might be elderly people and children.

    • Alyse says:

I disagree because if farmers use the drone to go do all his work then he’s just going to be at home being a couch potatoe. Also if they use the drones for saftey reasons something might happen to the drone whaile it is doing its task and whice have wasted time whice could be someones life and then they will have to get sent in.

    • Maddy. H says:

Yes, drones have a future, but it may not be a good one. drones make jobs easier, for your boss!!! you could be fired and replaced by a drone!!! Ouch!!! we can use drones for commercials, but we can also use them to stalk people! Also, yes, we can use them on the battle field, but so can the other guys!!! DRONE ARE BAD!!!

  15. shyla says:

Although drones have many pros and cons I still disagree with them flyingaround our cities . There is no doubt that drones can be very useful but they can also be very invasive, In fact somebody walked out of there apartment in one of the higher levels and was very freaked out because there was a drone right outside his balcony door. Equally important is that creepers can spy on you when ever they want. Drones can also result in loss of jobs such as trucks that are delivering things and people who are delivering food to other people’s houses. These flying objects are also a hazard to helicopters and air planes witch are tested for hitting birds on a regular basis but are not built for hitting 35 KILOGRAM drones.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for sharing your position Shyla. Your use of connecting words between sentences is terrific.

      Quick Fix:
      – the apartment belong to them = their apartment
      – whenever (one word) they want
      – witch (pointy hat, broom…); ‘air planes which are tested….’

  16. MAX says:

Drones are needed in today’s society. They can be used for human safety. They are every fun to fly. And it is a great hobby. Plus the military will not need to send our SOUL-MATES on mission! likewise our “soul-mates” wont need to climb 11476984237691423 million volt power lines! And our lazy BRO’S can get outside and fly there drone around the backyard and you can shoot the drone with a paintball gun!
it doesn’t give you a load lot exercise but it is better than playing MINECRAFT all day. And some people think that drones cause a lot of privacy issues but that is not true it has happened to one guy and do you know how many people there are in the world. so what I am saying is if you don’t agree with drones then never again buy a remote control toy again.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Max. Reread your thoughts. What BIG IDEA(s) are you arguing? You’ve provided many supporting details that are not linked to big ideas. Rework your argument and repost.

      Quick Fix:
      – In this activity, the writing is expected to be more formal. Your post reads like an informal conversation with a friend when you use ALL CAPS, hyperbole (11476984237691423 million volt) and slang (BRO’S).

    • Madison. D says:

When you are shooting at your BRO’S with your drone that is holding the paint ball gun what if you hit so one that is walking by and gets hurt plus you know how many people that will get shocked buy it in the future.

    • Maddy. H says:

drones are bad!!! yah, we can use them in war, but so can the enemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Mr. Bell says:

You raise a good point Maddy, although keep in mind that proper sentence construction and formatting is expected when contributing to our blog. Likewise, using many exclamation marks is unnecessary.

  17. Madison. D says:

They can cost $100,000 up to about $600,000 and could even cost more, plus they are a lot of safety concerns in fact they could create a lot of privacy issues too, and how many people want a drone spying on you 24-7 it is just creepy. I say that drones should not be allowed at all.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Madison. Though your final sentence states your position, you opening sentence leaves the reader wondering if you are for or against drones. Additionally, your first sentence is crammed with many ideas and little punctuation. In fact, there is even a question there without a question mark. Here are some steps to follow as you rework your post:

Sentence 1 – for or against
Sentence 2- state the BIG IDEAS
Sentences 3-? support and examples for each big idea
Final Sentence – a powerful concluding thought

    • Kaedyn says:

I disagree, drones don’t cost that much they are only around 1,000 you could solve your spying problem by locking the windows and door and pulling the blinds (also call the police).

      • Maddy. H says:

Bombs could be dropped, drugs could be delivered illegally! Plus, drones could kill people!DRONES ARE BAD!!!

        • MAX says:

no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no just no look if you were having a heart attack they can alert the ambulance and save you’re life plus only the Russians would kill people with drones and Russia likes Canada

          • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Max. Do you have any proof or evidence to back up your claim? There is no need to stereotype citizens.

            Quick Fix:
            – Beyond debating, this is a writing activity. As such, complete sentences are expected in the development of a convincing rebuttal.
            – Avoid repetitive use of a word. There is no need for ‘no no no no…’.
            – the life belonging to you = your life (you’re = you are)

          • Layla says:

Max, I don’t think you know what you are talking about! How do you know that Russia likes Canada? Anything is possible! They could pretend to like us, then end up HATING us, trying to dominate Canada! That probably wont happen…….but it could!!

    • MAX says:

But think about how many positive outcomes there are you could be brought to the hospital by a drone when you are having a heart attack! less serious you could get a drone to get your weekly grocery’s

      • Mr. Bell says:

        Quick Fix:
        – use an apostrophe to show possession (Dave’s car) or contraction (it’s)
        – an apostrophe is not used to make a plural noun
        – one grocery; many groceries

      • Madison. D says:

Think, how many people want a drone shopping in the grocery’s store at the same time as you, and what if there is only on can of tomato soup left and you and the drone get in a big fight and you get really hut then they could sue who ever drone it is.

  18. Quintin says:

Drones are not needed in this world because people need there privacy in the wash room.
Drones can be helpful in this world because there are dangerous jobs for human.
The fact that drones are existing in the world right now is good because they can deliver faster then over seas. A bad thing about drones is that truckers and pizza deliver man are going to loose there job from the drones. I like the idea of drones because they can be helpful for farmers so they don’t need to drive to see there crops by driving the drone can fly over head and look and see if they are good.

  19. Garet says:

Drones are a great addition to society. They help with tasks such as checking farms for if it should be harvested or if any are diseased and should be removed immediately. People can use them to check gravel pits. Car companies can use them to make commercials with better view than just using large machines. Drones also make deliveries for google and in certain places they deliver pizza.
People say that drones should not be used because of privacy reasons one possible solution is to make restricted air spaces where hobbyists aren’t allowed to fly, the camera could be turned off automatically is shut down and they are given a couple seconds before the drone is auto piloted and leaves the area and lands somewhere.
For reasons where the drone is used in safety they track terrorists, they also check power things which are dangerous for humans to be near. Soldiers can use them to make sure they won’t be ambushed.
For the reasons above drones should be allowed with restrictions.

  20. nolan says:

Drones are good because you can use them for the army and dangerous hydro work. Also police can use them to find a missing person. For instance a big semi-truck driving with goods and he could run a car over but drones fly in the air with out killing people.Plus they cost money a vehicle cost a lot to get gas with drone u charges its batters.

  21. Richard says:

Drones can be good and bad Here’s why. Drones can be great for everyday work.
Here are some great examples checking the crops in farms, advertizement, military uses. Here are the cons military uses could end up backfiring it could get popular and other countries could use it against us and could be more creative bio warfare dropping deadly gasses and bombs and could be reused if not harmed. Next is privacy you could be watched at all times and anybody could have access to watching you it would be a pretty simple to map out your house and plan a break in. And if you tried you could probably get some ones pin number from an ATM machine and get your pin number. They could watch you sleep. Solutions to privacy. You could need a license to own a drone. You could only be aloud drones for a professional reason.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Richard. In this activity you are expected to choose one side of the debate. Though it is useful to understand many sides of an argument, it is difficult to be convincing when you give power to both sides. Rework and repost your argument…choose a side.

  22. RIO says:

Drones are completely necessary what I am going to talk about is safety of drones. Just look at all the benefits to people like farmers, police departments and swat there are so many useful things that they can do it would be sad see them not available to the public and go to waste. One of the best things is drones in the military solders are just that bit safer and can go home to there family’s. Also the drones can fly up to electric towers and take a picture to see if it needs fixing. Over all that postal company’s three out of five people buy things off of eBay, Amazon and many more things that could take a week could take two days it is amazing what Drones have to offer I am amassed how far technology has come at this point technology can only in prove long story short drones are great.

  23. Charlize says:

Drones are absolutely bad for the world.
Imagine waking up, and a robot thing is watching you. -stalker much- Plus, Criminals could easily buy one of this things.
They can turn evil and destroy the world. Plus Ending Human life as we know it. The drones could deliver false packages that is or can be bad for example Bombs, drugs and way more!
Wrong people buying them aka criminals. Criminals could make the drones kill anyone they want like the police would die and everyone from jail could brake free and again destroy the world.

Thanks for you post Charlize. Take the time to rework and repost your response so that there are BIG IDEAS supported by several details. You’ve presented many unsupported topics: privacy, destruction, delivery, crime. For each big idea, provide at least 2 examples or supporting arguments.

  24. skye says:

In my opinion I think that drones are good and bad on the good side they coast allot less then helicopters or other gear and they can help monitor farmers crops and they can also investigate crime sens they can also see what needs to be repaired on buildings they can shot commercials to but then on the bad side they can spy on you and if they lose signal with there controller what will they do go crazy and fly into planes or even buildings but that is just my opinion on this subject.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Skye. In this instance, your job is to choose one side of the debate rather than ‘sit on the fence’. Please rework and repost your argument. Finally, using the word ‘just’ in your last sentence takes power from your argument, so take ‘just’ out.

      Quick Fix:
      – Punctuation is needed in your response. It cannot be one sentence of 95 words.
      – ‘they cost a lot…’
      – the crops belonging to farmers = farmers’ crops
      – crime scenes
      – the controller belonging to them = their controller

  25. Kaedyn says:

It is my belief that drones will have a positive affect on our world. They aren’t even expensive they’re only a couple thousand dollars where a helicopter is millions and think about shipping having drones delivering food and supplies would be way cheaper because electricity is cheaper than gas also way faster. Also there is safety think about wars they wouldn’t need to risk there lives they can just send a drone in.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for you post Kaedyn. It appears that the majority of your supporting details have to do with economic reasons – be sure that your BIG IDEA expresses this: Drones will have a positive economic…

      Quick Fix:
      – affect vs effect is trick; click here to get the details

    • Layla says:

Kaedyn, I strongly disagree with you! Drones are bad. And what if a drone tapped on tour window whilw you were in the shower saying “here is your pepperoni pizza” over and over again!!! Creepy!!!!!!!

  26. Layla says:

In my opinion, the use of drones is bad. There are multiple safety issues that occur, like, for example, if you fly a drone too high and it throws a plane of course, or if you are playing around in the neghborhood and you loose control of a drone and it crash-lands on the road or, possably, on the deck of a neighbors house. Another thing is childs safety. If you have a toddler, you know how they get into things! They can somehow get the remote, start the drone, and go around wreaking your house. Not good! As I have noted, another reason is privacy. Some drones are used beyond safey reasons, and people are sick enough to try and spy (or stalk, if you will) people with the drones. It is misleading the comunity if we have drones. There dangerouse, and people don’t even see it. Furthermore, they can carry stuff like bombs, and missles. They have killed innocent civilians everywhere. Not only are they horrible, there cruel. Now think, are drones really as “good” and “safe” as we think.

  27. Maddy. H says:

It is to my beleif that these drones should not be used. these robots could be used to drop bombs and to spy on us. These drones could carry drugs accross the border into the US and Canada!!! In addition, the drones are killing people in different parts of the world. In addition, these drones could put people out of work! If somebody has a job delivering pizzas, then the drone will probably deliver the pizza for less pay and will make that person have to go job hunting. In conclusion, DRONES SHOULD NOT BE USED!!!

  28. Madison. D says:

They can cost $100,000 up to about $600,000 and could even cost more, plus they are a lot of safety concerns in fact they could create a lot of privacy issues too, and how many people want a drone spying on you 24-7 it is just creepy? What happens if one day the sky is full of drones and is polluting the air. In my opinion I say that drones should not be allowed at all for safety and privacy reasons. And if used should only be used for real emergency’s.

  29. mackenzie says:

In my opinion I think drones are not a good thing.Thats because of privacy issue, they can be dangerous,an the cost. The privacy issue is people can spy on you. Why I think its dangerous is because they can crash into plans an they can also crash into tall buildings. The cost would be that it would takeaway peoples deliverer y jobs an they will be flying around in are skies all the time. Like could you imagine looking up an see drones flying ever were. So that is why i think drones are not a godd thing.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your arguments, you’ve done a good job to outline big ideas, then support them with details. Please take the time to read the quick fixes then rework and repost your argument.

      Quick Fixes:
      – that is = that’s
      – ‘and’ is a conjunction used to connect ideas: “they can crash into planes and they can…”; you have used ‘an’ when ‘and’ is needed
      – add a space after punctuation when you are typing
      – our (belongs to us); our skies
      – I is always a capital letter

  30. Lydia :3 says:

From My Point Of View Drones Are Good . First Of All They Are Time Saving,Like For People That Have To Check The Hydro Lines They Can Save allot of timelast and for all drones can send medical supply’s to remote places and find crooks for the police & Farmers Can Use Drones To See The Crops And Have The Day To Do Other Things. Second Of All They Are Economical,They Are Cheaper Then Big Gas Guzzling Truck & It Is Cheaper To Recharge The Battery Then It Is To Get Gas For The Truck last and for all drones can send medical supply’s to remote places and find crooks for the police

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your thought Lydia. When writing/typing, only the first word of the sentence and proper nouns need to be capitalized. Another formatting fix is to add a space after a comma, as well as a period, question mark, or exclamation mark. Please rework and repost your argument.

  31. Apache says:

drones are bad for the world because they invade your privacy. Just imagine getting up to get a cup of coffee in the morning and looking out the window and seeing a drone watching you. Also bad people can be bye them to kill people or something.

    • Mr. Bell says:

Thanks for your post Apache. Your opening statement is a great start, but your argument does not develop. You’ve gone into some examples but haven’t shared the big ideas that these examples support. Please read some of the other responses, rework your post and send it again.

      Quick Fix:
      – Start your first sentence with a capital letter.

    • Jayme says:

Apache I think drones should be used because in my opinion they can help people with their jobs such as farmers checking their crops with drones, you can also use a drone for commercials instead of caring a heavy camera, and the best thing about drones is that they can be used in the war instead of soldiers risking their lives! Jayme

  32. Beau says:

I believe drones should be used in our society. First of all, drones can be used for inspecting big voltage towers, instead of people climbing up and taking a look, which can be very dangerous. Secondly, drones can used for the military and the RCMP. The military can use drones for gathering information and taking pictures. In fact the drones also have missiles. The RCMP uses drones to locate missing hikers or to guard aquariums. Thirdly, the drones can be used to inspect snow packed mountains to help prevent avalanches. In conclusion, drones will be a big benefit to our society.

  33. Layla says:

I just made a discovery! I took my dog for a walk and he peed on a very frosty leaf, then it started to steam from the warmth of the urine against the cold of the frost.

  34. Layla says:

I wrote that over the weekend!!!!!

  35. Isahia says:

Drones can be useful in some ways but there are many ways where they can make the world worse such as safety if people use them with no control and cause damage to building or may hit some one on the head, but when there used to stop crime it can help the world but most likely it wont be used in a good way.

  36. Layla says:

I disagree with you, Niomi! Yes, they can be helpfull in sorts, but they are SUPER EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!! they cost the car comercial people a LOT of money, like, for instance, $200.00 plus tax! Thats a lot of money, especially just for a remote-control flying video camra!

  37. Charlize says:
