The Periodic Table…

Hi Class – Check out how elements are used in everyday items…it’s pretty interesting! Once you’ve explored the link, post a reply to share at least three discoveries you learned. Your post is due before lunch this Thursday (November 17).

  1. Alexis says:

    Periodic Table

    1) Boron is in most sport equipment

    2) Florine is in toothpaste

    3) Arsenic is in L.E.D lighting

  2. Levi says:

    lithium-batteries are light weight soft,reactive

    Emeralds are lightweight metal non-sparkling

Arsenic led is poison with tiny lasers

  3. Kailen says:

    Egg has sulfur in it
    LEDS has poison in it
    Your bones have phosphorus

  4. Noah says:

I didn’t know that Krypton was used in flashlights, I didn’t know that Sulfur is the eggs yolks, I didn’t know that Lead was used in weights.

  5. Dylan says:

there are some things I learned but first that table is really cool!!! But a few things I learned is that sulfur is in eggs. What? That’s cool right? and that nitrogen is used in protein I a surprised it doesn’t freeze your insides! and one last thing I learned is that
platinum is used in lab equipment that’s kind of neat right?

  6. Hailee says:

I didn’t know that Plutonium was in nuclear weapons. Lead is in weights? Well I guess it is! Europium? I don’t know what it is, but it is in TVs, the colour piece.

  7. Isabella says:

    1. Titanium is the strongest lightweight metal
    2. Potassium is in your nerves, gunpowder, fruits and vegetables
    3. Chlorine, the thing we swim in, is a green, poisonous gas

  8. Sophia says:

I learned that Titanium it conducts both heat and electricity. I also learned that Arsenic B,SI,GE,AS,SB and TE are metalloids and the last thing I learned is that Neon Nobel gas are inactive or inert.

  9. brady says:

    atomic clocks have cesium
    poison arsenic
    pen points osmium

  10. Mya says:

i just leaned that if you drink water from the pool pvc plastic pipe and bottle

  11. Johnathon says:

The things I learned are that pen tips are made of osmium, flashlights have krypton in them, and fireworks have strontium.

  12. Salma says:

I learned that copper in in blue crabs blood, stainless steal is in paint, and potassium is in your nerves

  13. Livia says:

I did not know that Silicon is partly like metal, Or that uranium is a radioactive metal, and Cerium is a rare earth metal.

  14. Chloe says:

    1. I learned that pipes and bottles have chlorine in it

    2. I learned that blue crab blood has copper in it

    3. I learned that wood has carbon in it

  15. Jobie says:

    strongest lightweight metel heat resetent

  16. Kyle says:

Here Are Three Things I Didn’t Know But Just Found Out:

    1. Egg Yolk Is From Sulfur.

    2. Protein Is From Nitrogen.

    3. Weights Are From Lead.

  17. Ryan says:

I din’t know that people used to put fluorine in water, I learned what beryllium is, I learned that gallium is in alarm clocks. I really like learning about the table of elements I find it very interesting and I would like to learn more about it:D

  18. Sarah says:

I learned that protein is made by nitrogen and that rare earth metals are all soft metals.
They are chemically similar to scandium and yttrium and are difficult to separate from each other so it is a homogeneous mixture. I also learned that weights are made out of lead.

  19. Avery says:

I learned that glowing white waxy solid (also red and black forms); bones, DNA, energy storing phosphates, (ATP), fertilizer, acids, detergent, matches.

The 2 thing I learned was, Technetium is the first ever human made element <3

The last thing I learned was, Thulium is a rare metal.

  20. John says:

1: explosive gas, lightest element, 90% of atoms in the universe, sun and stars, (H20),
    life organic molecules .
2: hard metal, hard tough steel, earth movers, rock crusher, rail, plow, axes,
3:soft metal, reactive, atomic clocks, global navigation (gps), vacuum tube scavenger.

  21. Brianna says:

Some things I don’t know about the periodic table is Lithium is the lightest medal it’s also soft, reactive and lightweight and Rubidium is a soft metal and it can be used to make a alarm clocks and Strontium are soft metals that can be used to make flares and red fire works.
