Hi Class!
“The more you learn, the more you earn.” Do you agree or disagree? Defend your position with reasonable ideas. Once you have posted a reply, click this link for some information. Post your response by Monday, December 3. (Remember Monday is a pro-d day…it is very unlikely the class will be going to the computer lab)
Yes if you learn you earn.
If you did not go to school you would not get a job. But if you went to school you could get a job.
Does learning guarantee a job? What else is needed?
Hi!!! Whats that timeline website called? we used it for steve jobs
Hi Anna – do you mean Prezi? (http://prezi.com/)
Yes, because when you learn you keep that knowledge then you can have a career so technically you earn that career by learning. And also when you learn you earn but without the l.
Yes, because if you do good in school and get good grades you can get a better paying job. But if you don’t do good in school and you get allot of yellow slips you probably won’t get a good job. Also the word learning has the word earning in it so yes.
You raise an interesting point Spencer, are good grades directly related to success? One might suggest that learning comes from mistakes. Can someone be successful if he or she makes mistakes?
Its right learning is earning if you get your education you can get a job. when you learn your reward is to earn an education and a job like being a nurse or a doctor something. learning is earning in my opinion.
I agree because, if a person has gone to college/university, that person follows a well paid job that they spent years in school learning. Say you wanted to be a doctor, you would spend years studying for the job, and with studying comes learning. On the other hand, if you got a job as a fry cook at McDonald’s you wouldn’t need to know very much about the job to work as that title, but as a doctor you need to know what your doing to succeed in it.
I agree because when i get my report card if I do good i get a reward. You have to go to school to get a good job. Most people go to university and succeed in life. If you think Mcdonalds is a good job your wrong! You probably get 13 dollars an hour. Learning is earning!
I agree with this statement. I believe that if you work you will get a reward for it. For example when brock secondary needed to to get rid of the books and I worked for two days and I got $100 for my reward from the principle. So when I hear the statement the more you learn the more you earn I know that its true
Quick Fix: principal (of a school); principle (idea or belief)
I think learning is earning because you need a good education even if you don’t want one.if you didn’t go to school you probably wouldn’t go to collage and if you don’t go to collage you probably wouldn’t get a good job. All of us want a good job hopefully. So I agree learning is earning.
Quick Fix: college (school) vs collage (art where things are glued on a page)
Yes I believe learning more than earning more. Kids need to learn to move throw this big world on there own. Soon there not going to have anyone to navigate them throw there crazy life they are going to have to figure it out for there selfs. Kids need a good education if you want a family. Kids think that school is cruel that there is nothing fun to do that it is worth nothing. But kids don’t now it is worth something. At least you don’t now that some kids don’t even have an education so be lucky for what you got. You wish you have everything but we got it pretty good so cherish that you have a home. Don’t drop out of school because you can go on to be great things for the world and for you.
yes i agree if you don’t learn you won’t get a good job ! but if we knew everything without learning would save alot of time but i don’t think that’ll happen.
It is impossible to know everything, but with the skills to locate answers, it is possible to find everything!
I agree because when you learn you have that knowledge.
if you don’t learn you wont get a job and learning is earning.
Knowledge is something valuable and it can’t be taken away – good point Damien!
I agree because you need to learn if you didn’t learn you wouldn’t approve in anything if you don’t approve in anything you wont get a job
You make a good connection between learning and improving (not approving). Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I agree because if you don’t learn you wont be that smart so you wont get a good job or any job. If I do good in school and I get a good report card, I get to go to a movie or go shopping.
I agree Jada that having an education helps you get the qualification for a job. This said, can someone be ‘smart’ without an education?
The more you learn the more you earn. Ya that sounds about right. When you go through school it’s to learn and it’s important to get a good edjucation so you can get a good job. If you get a good edjucation you will be happier and more relaxed about your job. Chances are if you go through school with your head down all the time you won’t learn as much as you could and you wouldn’t be as happier with your life and career. That’s my opinion and thats what most people choose to do.
You are correct Kelsey when you mention that many jobs require higher levels of education!
Quick Fix: education (no ‘j’ in it)
I agree because it’s true. If you don’t get a good education than it won’t be easy to go for the job that you want, but if you do get a good education than it will be alot easier to go for the job you want because than you will have the knowledge to actually understand. For instance,if you don’t pay any attention in class than you can’t get a good job so you won;t get a good job and if you are planning on moving out of your parents’ house than luck with that. You also won’t have an easy time in college or university, or even your whole life. So yeah I do agree; now if you will excuse me I have to read the link.
Nicely said Rayne! Many of the ‘good’ jobs require an education to be considered for the job. Then you have to set yourself apart from all of the other people with the same education by demonstrating excellent skills.
Quick Fix: ‘than’ is used to compare (this is easier than that); use ‘then’ when you are explaining something in a sequence (first do this, then do that)
Of course! If you learn you earn it’s as simple as 123. Keeping up good learning habits and keeping focus will almost always get you farther in life. Good education and schooling will get you better jobs, better salaries, and freedom to do what you want when you want to do it. So, if you are going to earn you might as well learn because it sure will help you in the long run.
You make a great point Jillian about the link between education and better jobs. Often the education is the requirement simply to be able to apply for the job. Once you are able to apply, then it is up to your skills!
