2. To be honest I don’t care not even 1%
Does this mean you do not care if there are age restrictions, if kids become addicted, people die? Please complete the questions.
i like the new rules sort of because there’ll be less deaths in Canada, Second i don’t like the new rules are because you won’t be hyper or what ever
Should other dangerous foods and drinks be banned because they are bad for the health of people?
Quick Fix: I is always a capital letter
I am in favour of the governments energy drinks laws because I don’t want anybody to get hurt and I don’t want my children to get hurt when I grow up.
I have no reason to oppose the new laws because I have never and will never drink energy drinks.
Should governments decide what foods and drinks people consume?
Are energy drinks the only harmful things people drink? Should potato chips be banned as well?
No I like potato chips and my family only get them once a week.I rarely finish the whole bag anyway
I think that they should not let people under the age of 18. I think that it is very bad to let other kids drink more than they can handle because it effects their health.
How do you think the minimum age should be determined? 18 for energy drinks, 16 to drive a car, even younger to get a job…why is age the factor in your opinion?
Well I’m in favor of the energy drinks because i don’t find them to be terrible for you . And most of them only have as much caffeine as an average cup of coffee . Plus they have vitamins and minerals. But i wouldn’t say drink them all the time because of all the sugar an caffeine but i think every once in a while having a energy drink wouldn’t be bad for you .
remember to use capital I’s isaac NOT i but I
kolton remember your period at the end of your sentence .
Quick Fix: Proper nouns and sentences begin with a capital letter Isaac. ๐
In favour of the governments new energy drink rules I agree that they should be sold in singles because some might just drink one and it might cost more to buy a pack than a single one. I agree that there should be less caffeine in the energy drinks so it’s less dangerous and a less percentage of people dying.
I opposed to the government of showing the analysis because than it could put the energy drink factories and stores out of business.
Can the health of people and the success of energy drink businesses exist together?
I like that they will say could cause death on the can.I don’t like how kids under 18 can’t buy energy drinks . I think you shouldn’t be aloud to buy energy drinks if your under 11.
They should not be aloud to drinks energy drinks because it’s to much caffeine for them. In some there is more caffeine than others, this is why I think everyone should look at the back of the can.
Quick Fix:
aloud = to say something others can hear
allowed = permitted
I personally think that energy drinks should be band from kids under the age of 18.
Also, they should be made with less caffeine and with less sugar.Kids at high schools and even kids in elementary kids have their parents buy them energy drinks. They’re just getting them sick, making them vomit, and killing their own kids, which is sad. So I’m really on the governments side.
Anna
Quick Fix:
band = group of musicians
banned = not permitted
I am opposed to these new rules because caffeine is so unknown to many people and most believe that caffeine is not a drug, but it is. Yet these rules state that the limited amount put in energy drinks is180 milligrams that would probably sicken or even kill a child from the ages four to nine years old. Try to imagine you are all grown up you and you open up a lets say a Red Bull you got a lovely spouse a five year old and a two year old. You just remember that it is garbage day so you put your Red Bull on the coffee table, your two year old comes by does not know what it is? so he starts chugging all 180 milligrams of caffeine and whole sugar bowl down till it’s gone. Well we know the end your son dies. not only do you cry and hate yourself your family hates you.
You describe a scary scenario…I hope parents do not leave their energy drinks within the reach of toddlers.
uumm that’s a intresting way of describing it BQ
For me I think what there doing is good like there going to say in like the labeling that it can cause death risk and it’s not good for people that are still young. Alsothat you would have to be over 18 to buy it.
Should the government restrict junk food and fast food too?
I in favour of the rules because it has gotten out of hand.My friend drank it when he was 10 to 11.In that sheet that we read said the company put lot of bad stuff, which sound like a lot of crap in it.
Quick Fix: Though ‘crap’ is a powerful and vivid word, it is slang and should not be used in academic writing. Better choices would be ‘unhealthy’ or ‘harmful’ or ‘dangerous’ ingredients.
that is so true although I have never had a energy drink before
๐
1. Their will be less deaths by heart attacks and maybe people will stop drink them
but people that are under 18 are going to still find ways to get their find their fix
2. I opposed because people are mad and the companies are going to loss sales.
Quick Fix: Click this link for practice using there-their-they’re
I think the new rules wound be good for Canada, like I said in my they post it is getting out of hand.I can’t believe the government has band the energy drink company
Well it shows that they care about there kids and want them to be healthy, and want there country to be healthy and are willing to do whatever it takes. but on the other hand enforcing these laws might cause more rebellion, kids going out not to do drugs but to drink energy drinks. there are probably more kids drinking energy drinks then drugs.
I forgot my capitals
It happens – no worries. Sometimes one forgets to use punctuation too!!!
Good point about kids wanting it more if it is restricted to over 18.
Quick Fix: THERE / THEIR / THEY’RE (click this link for more practice)
Use their to show possession.
I think energy drinks should be illegal because they can kill you. I think it isn’t just the caffeine I think it is also the the chemicals that are in the drink. Energy drinks may taste good to some but I don’t like them they taste just like pop, why don’t you just have a pop? They aren’t good for you but they are better than energy drinks.
Too many fatty foods can kill as well, yet the government does not restrict junk food. Should they?
some junk food should be restricted but not all
What is you criteria to determine which junk foods should be restricted? Is it fair?
1.) I am not in favour of the new rules. I like the rules and energy drinks the way they are.
2.) I don’t like the rules because of the critics and everything.
Keira ๐
What do you mean in #2? – your answer is unclear.
Quick Fix: Adding ‘everything’ to a thought does not make an argument. What are the details for ‘everything’?
Well they do tast good but if they could kill you thats just horrible !!!!!!!!!!so they should make a law about energy drinks ๐
make it a law
Good compound sentences to begin with – nicely done! Develop your response with more details and reasons as you are expected to write several sentences.
Quick Fix: taste (not tast; adding the ‘e’ at the end makes the long a sound)
1.) I am in favour of the governments rules because I think that energy drinks can be very dangerous to kids if they drink to many of them. When people drink to much they can have extreme risks of getting health issues , thats why I think the government is trying to prevent so many people fun drinking them.
2.) I am opposed to the goverments rules because if you have a good balance and dont have to many they dont hurt you health and give you death risks.
Good points – should rules only apply to people who do not have a good balance?
Quick Fixes:
– to / too / two – click the link for some practice
– do not = don’t (apostrophe used for a contraction)
– the rules belonging to the government = the government’s rules (apostrophe used for a possession)
Rules should apply to everybody.
Even with rules, someone has to enforce the rules. How do you see energy drink rules being enforced?
I do not know
well I’m in favor of these new rules because I know a lot of people that drink energy drinks on a daily basis and I would like it for them to have a longer live. This is one of reasons why the new laws so be in place. 8)
To extend your argument then, we need rules for fatty foods, salty foods and so on because people should have long lives.
Quick Fix: Begin sentences with capital letters.
Well I never had energy drinks but they should but an end to this. If kids die or adults I bet that the company will feel bad so they should put a little less sugar and caffeine and little bit more healthy stuff. And yes you should be 18 or older to buy energy drinks.
Many people have died from smoking, yet cigarettes are still sold. Why do you think energy drink would be treated differently?
1.really this time the government is making a lot of sense for once. I am on board with the governments decision. It will save a lot of lives but people are not listening to what the government has to say .That is why I am in favour
How can people be convinced to listen?
Quick Fix: the decision belonging to the government = the government’s decision
2. the reasons I a oppose to the government is because the government is never right I bet that if people are Not listening to the government they are gonna ban It.
Provide specific examples. The statement, “the government is never right” is broad and does not make a convincing argument for any topic.
Quick Fix:
– Separate ideas into sentences; you have written a run on sentence.
Well, I really don’t care about this Energy drinks thing because isn’t what I am in too and I will not be into ever.
Quick fix: in too or into
I am in favour of the of the new energy drink rules because energy drinks can be very harmful to kids like use with the amount of caffeine served in the drink. and kids are age are limited to a caffeine amount that are body’s can handle
Good ideas – now organize them into sentences:
I am in favour of the of the new energy drink rules because energy drinks can be very harmful to kids. The amount of caffeine….Kids are….
I have to say I am in favour of these new rules. People should be able to get a clear analysis of what is in the drink and if you think about it imagine you have a babysitting job and your babysitting a 3 year old and you set down your energy drink within arms reach of the child and he/she grabs it and drinks it. It would most likely end in death so you would be in a crap load of trouble plus you would probably get your babysitting license provoked. So yeah I agree with these new rules I don’t think I oppose with any of the rules.
Quick Fix:
Be aware of word choices appropriate to the setting and task. Crap load is not academic. Choose a better term.
Also, if your license is taken away, it is revoked (not provoked); provoked means to have started something
I disagree because energy drinks are bad for u and thats why i have never had one in my entire life, well and I’m not allowed to.
Quick Fixes:
– you (not u)
– I (not i)
– that’s (not thats)
I agree on the new rules because then not as many people will spend soo much money on energy drinks and get sick over all the drinks. I disagree because if the kids parents will let them drink them then they should be aloud to buy them
Quick Fix: aloud = a voice that others can hear; allowed = permitted
