hmmmmmm
Grit is important to people because it helps people do better in life. Kids can develop grit if they want to or something they like. Kids can help getting grit adults, kids, and teacher if they are encouraged.
Do you need more grit to do something you like or something you dislike (but have to do)? Explain.
Grit is important because if you don’t have grit then you won’t do very good because you’ll always give up and not commit to anything. A person in grade 6/7 would get grit by finding something that that person is passionate about and wants to do. The adults can help by supporting. Finally you have to be a boss.
Have you ever had to be gritty to overcome failure? Were you successful?
Grit is important because without it the light bulb wouldn’t have been developed. grit means to stick to something even thought you fail at times but you still keep trying. Just like Albert Einstein he worked so hard to create the light bulb and after many failures he finally got it. If kids have grit in their everyday lives I think the world would be a better place.
Can grit be taught or does it solely come from experience?
Here’s some info on the light bulb – Einstein wasn’t the inventor.
It can be taught by parents or teacher but normally kids become mature and figure out things on their own.
Grit is important, you have to have determination, drive and enthusiasm. You have to be passionate about what you are doing. Have a goal set a standard and don’t fail when you come to the end. You have to show you love what you you do you have to love it or you will not succeed. If adults and kids have determination we will get somewhere.
Your raise a valuable point about passion and loving what you are doing – nicely said!
Grit is a complicated thing to explain. We have to develop grit, and we have to practise it, but in the end, don’t we all have it in us anyways? We can all stick to things, and we all have perseverance, but only when we want to do things, so we have some grit, right? So in conclusion, I feel that we all have it in us, and we now all that’s left is to pursue the dreams we have, and make a life for them.
Can grit be taught or is it only gained via experiences? You are correct when you say everyone has grit – though the amount varies. Some people don’t try, some give up after one failure, while others persist until they are successful. It is important to have a goal, target, or finish line in mind so that you know when you have accomplished something.
Grit is important because if no one had grit I do not think that Christopher Columbus would have sailed across the Atlantic ocean. Its important to have grit because if we don’t have grit then we would go no where in life. It’s easy to develop grit all you have to do is try and give it a go if you fail,oh well you learn from your mistakes and you learn to do things even better the second time around. People can help by encouraging grit make a deal with them say if you try it and its to hard or you don’t like I’ll help you through it or something grit is so important everyone has it no one can’t have grit but its so important just remember to give it a chance and try your best. learn from your mistakes you will get better.
Without mistakes there is no learning. You are correct that people get better when they learn from mistakes. Why do you think there is this fear of making mistakes? Naturally, the mistakes we are discussing are safe ones that do not lead into disasters (we are not talking about landing an airplane or open heart surgery). Still, so many people do not share their ideas and solutions because someone else may think it is wrong – what’s the big deal? Without experiencing failure, one does not truly appreciate success.
Quick Fix:
– it is = it’s
Grit is important to people becaust it helps people do really good in life. people can develop grit if they want to or something they like
oops because
Good fix!
Can parents and teachers help kids develop more grit? Explain.
I think that grit is very necessary. With out it you would probably fail at almost every thing. You could find grit by competing and still having fun whether you lose or win. you will succeed at least one in the long run but there will be many losses.
You make a great point about the ratio of failures to successes. Dwelling on the failures takes the satisfaction out of the successes. Seeing failure as a stepping stone to the success in the end is important.
Grit is important to everyone. It’s the trait that strengthens your ability to hold strong to your goals. A person develops grit by discovering something they are passionate about, something they want to continue for a long period of time.
Well said Shaleyea! You make a great connection between passion and grit. How do you think students can apply grit in school for the subjects, assignments and projects they may have little interest in?
